I have recently obtained the postgraduate designation of Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician® (CCSP®) by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians™ (ACBSP™). The CCSP® certification required me to attend a minimum of 100 hours of a 120 hour postgraduate program. This instruction is specific to physical fitness and the evaluation and treatment of injuries encountered in sports. Following the completion of these hours, I had to then take and successfully pass a comprehensive written examination.
This training will further enhance my already Sports Specific Chiropractic practice where I am also certified in a number of soft-tissue techniques, such as ART® and Graston®. This will increase my knowledge and ablility to treat several different types of sports injuries and conditions. I also serve as The University of Clemson Men’s Basketball manual therapist, and has been the Asheville Tourists team Chiropractor for the past 5 years. This program requires me to maintain a minimum of 12 hours of sports related continuing education a year, so I always am up to date on the latest in sports medicine.
